Its dop bread is a famous product, peculiar in its shape and unique taste. The cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, built by Federico II, is its most important monument, as well as the man of Altamura, such as a well-preserved skeleton of a Homo Neanderhalensis, and the dinos cave near Pontrelli, which is the most important Paleontological site in the world because of the number of dinosaur footprints found in it.

Visit Gravina
Gravina in puglia, the city of water and stone, it is famous for its caves and 'gravine' or canyons, created by the eroding action of water on stone.
Part of the city is extended on the verge of a deep crevasse, like a canyon, digged in the stone by the stream of Gravina, a tributary of the river, from which most of the 'Gravine' were named after in a territory dominated by Karstic caves like the 'Pulicchio' of gravina. The Underground City of gravina is certainly a must see.

A wonderful meeting between sea, history and nature
In the heart of the regional park of the 'Gravina', Castellaneta is located right in the middle of the western side of Taranto territory, such as the Jonic arch.
